Congress Venue
The 13th AIC International Congress took place at ICC Jeju, located on Jeju Island, Korea. The venue is a well-known international convention center on the southern coast of the island, offering modern facilities with views of the surrounding seascape.
ICC Jeju served as the hub for all scientific sessions, keynote presentations, poster displays, and exhibition areas throughout the five-day program from October 16 to 20, 2017.
For attendees traveling to the congress, Jeju Island offered a uniquely welcoming atmosphere that combined modern conference infrastructure with the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. The island's convenient transportation network, including its international airport and well-connected road systems, made it straightforward for delegates from around the world to reach the venue. Beyond the scientific program, visitors could easily explore the island's volcanic terrain, coastal trails, and cultural heritage sites during their stay, making the congress experience as memorable for its setting as for its scholarly content.
The congress organizers placed a strong emphasis on creating meaningful opportunities for professional exchange and collaboration among color scientists, designers, and researchers from diverse disciplines. Throughout the five-day program, participants engaged in lively discussions during poster sessions, shared insights during oral presentations, and connected with peers during scheduled breaks and social events. The exhibition area provided a space where attendees could learn about the latest tools, technologies, and publications in the field of color science, further enriching the overall congress experience.
Practical information was made readily available to all participants ahead of the event, covering essential topics such as accommodation options, visa requirements, and cultural program details. The organizing committee worked diligently to ensure that international attendees felt supported and well-informed throughout their journey, from the initial registration process to their departure from the island. This thoughtful attention to logistics allowed delegates to focus fully on the scientific content and networking opportunities that defined the congress, while still having ample time to appreciate all that Jeju had to offer.
Optional Tours
Attendees could join optional tours exploring Jeju's natural and cultural landmarks. These excursions were designed to complement the congress schedule and offered a chance to experience the island's UNESCO World Heritage sites, volcanic landscapes, and traditional villages.
