Oral Presentation Guideline

The Organizing Committee of the 13th International AIC Congress (AIC 2017) would like to sincerely thank all authors who have submitted their papers for presentation. To ensure that your work is shared effectively, we ask all speakers to follow the guidelines below.

Preparing the Presentation

  • Language: English
    • Presentation must be spoken in English only.
  • Time Limit
    • Each presentation is strictly limited to 10~15 minutes.
    • We strongly encourage you to secure at least 3 minutes for discussion and questions from the audience during your presentation. Chairpersons are under strict instructions to enforce the scheduled time allotments per speaker.
    • Speakers are required to arrive at the session room at least 15 minutes before the session begins and be seated on the Speakers’ Seat.
  • A/V Equipment
    • You will be responsible for controlling/advancing the slides during your presentation.
(*wireless remotes are not provided as a standard item.)
    • Session rooms will be equipped with the following items:
A computer running Windows 7 with MS Office 2010(PowerPoint 2010 or earlier version) along with Acrobat Reader (Latest Version) and Windows Media Player (Version 12)
*For best results, PowerPoint 2007/2008 users should save their presentations in those versions’ native .pptx format, and not in the PowerPoint ’97-2003 format.
A beam projector and a microphone
    • We recommend you to upload your presentation file in advance instead of using your own laptop computer to avoid problems with computer-projector compatibility and to save the time for changing connections.
    • An Apple Mac book user must bring the Mini Display Port-VGA Adapter for his/her laptop.
  • Presentation Material Format
    • We recommend that all speakers prepare their presentation materials using Microsoft Office PowerPoint (PPT).
    • Use a standard font such as Times New Roman, Arial or Tahoma which will be included on the session room computers. If you use any special or unique fonts, your presentation may not appear correctly on the session room computers.
    • We encourage speakers not to use an overabundance of images. Images at a resolution higher than300 dpi are not necessary. JPG, GIF or BMP images are the recommended file format for inserted images.
    • Use of animations should be kept to minimum.
    • Bring your video files in WMV, MPEG or AVI format with your final presentation.

Presentation File Submission

  • Presentation Material FormatFor your presentation, please bring your files on a USB drive to the Preview Room (#304)at least 3 hours before your presentation time.
  • When reviewing your presentation, please make sure all fonts and images appear as expected and that all audio or video clips are working properly. Computers in the session rooms will be identical to those in the Preview Room.
